I am Nicole Bizzotto, an interdisciplinary researcher examining how social media shape beliefs about mental health, professional help-seeking, and overall well-being. My research focuses on the dynamics of patient empowerment and the dissemination of mental health misinformation.

My dissertation
"Not All Those Who Navigate Are Lost"
I completed my PhD at Università della Svizzera italiana with the support of a Doc.CH grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation. My dissertation, "Not All Those Who Navigate Are Lost" investigates how patients with higher levels of patient empowerment interact with mental health misinformation in online communities on Facebook.
